Description

ETH Zurich is offering scholarships under the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) and the ETH-D Scholarship to students who wish to undertake Masters degree programmes in AY 2020/2021.

ETH Zurich offers Masters degree programmes in: Architecture and Civil Engineering; Engineering Sciences; Natural Sciences and Mathematics; System-oriented Natural Sciences; and Management and Social Sciences.

Benefits

The Excellence Scholarship consists of a CHF 12,000 per semester grant covering full study and living expenses, as well as a tuition fee waiver, for the duration of the Masters programme of 3 or 4 semesters. The ESOP also supports students with mentorship and a network of the ETH Foundation.

The ETH-D Scholarship consists of a partial stipend of CHF 7,500 per semester for living and study expenses; as well as a tuition fee waiver. The scholar may receive additionally a scholarship award of CHF 3,000 per semester, or may receive financial aid in the form of an assistantship of CHF 500 to 600 per month.

Eligibility

Applicants must be excellent students (national and international) with very good results in the Bachelors degree (within top 10% of Bachelors programme, i.e. holding grade A). They also have to submit a pre-proposal for their Masters thesis when applying for the scholarship. The pre-proposal must be developed by the candidates themselves, using established scientific citation practices.

Scholarship applicants must have applied for a Masters degree programme at ETH Zurich commencing AY 2020/2021. They could also be ETH Zurich Bachelors students who are going to continue with a consecutive Masters degree programme. Those who are already enrolled in a Masters degree programme at ETH Zurich are ineligible.

 

Application

The application form, which is available online, must be sent by post no later than 15 December 2019, to reach the Financial Aid Office of ETH Zurich by 18 December 2019.
