The University of Oxford is now accepting applications for the Pershing Square Graduate Scholarship from potential transformative global leaders who are applying for the Oxford MBA 1+1 programme commencing AY 2020. Six scholarships will be awarded. Candidates applying to the MBA 1+1 must also apply to 1 of the partner MSc programmes. Some of the partnering programmes include: Master of Public Policy (MPP), MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice, MSc in Computer Science, MSc in Education (Child Development and Education), MSc in Pharmacology, MSc in Comparative Social Policy, Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL), MSc in Migration, MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management, etc.
The Oxford Pershing Square graduate scholarship provides funding for to cover the tuition and college fees and at least £15,009 towards living expenses for both years of study. Scholars will also be invited to a spring ‘trek’ to New York City hosted by the Pershing Square Foundation, where they will participate in meetings and workshops with leading innovators and change makers. They will also have the opportunity to attend prestigious conferences and events throughout the year, including the Ditchley Conferences and the Skoll World Forum.
Scholarship applicants should be candidates with high academic achievement as demonstrated through degree results, GMAT or GRE score, previous university prizes and awards, and other academic achievements. They must have leadership potential, evidenced through experience and motivation and who possess strong personal character, integrity and commitment. They must intend to focus on addressing world-scale social challenges in their career, either in an existing organisation or through development of a new enterprise, with the ability to envision how to achieve scalable and sustainable solutions to these challenges. To be eligible for the Oxford Pershing Square Graduate Scholarship, applicants must receive an offer to study on the Oxford 1+1 MBA.
Applicants must submit an essay of no more than 500 words addressing the question ‘How do you intend to change the world? What does this tell us about you as a person?’
Applicants will be accepted in accordance with the following order of preference:
- Applicants to the Oxford 1+1 MBA Programme
- Applicants who apply to any full-time 1-year Masters course that is not currently part of the official list of partner 1+1 MBA Programme; and to the MBA (as a separate application)
- Current Oxford students on a non-MBA course, who are applying to the MBA after the completion of their current Masters/DPhil course (with no gap year(s).
Applicants for the Oxford Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships must submit their applications to the 1+1 programme by 10 January 2020.
