Type of Funding
The Tang Foundation is inviting women from developing countries and Taiwan who are engaged in research in public health and sustainable development, to apply for the 2018 Gro Brundtland Award. The Go Brundtland Award will be given to 5 young female scientists, 1 from Taiwan and 4 from other developing countries, to attend the Gro Brundtland Week in Taiwan which will be held from 17 to 23 March 2018.
Winners will meet other female researchers in the same field at the Gro Brundtland Week, where they can introduce their own research to other international research groups and promote future collaborations between institutions.
Winners of the Award must be involved in all the arranged activities during the Go Brundtland Week and make an oral presentation of their research in a symposium. They have to propose an idea of new research collaborations and directions at the final presentation. They also need to submit a final report about the week to the organizer no later than 20 days after the end of the Gro Brundtland Week.
The winners will have their round-trip economy class airfare to Taiwan covered, as well as 6-days’ accommodation, some meals and transportation during the week.
Applicants must be citizens of developing countries or Taiwan, who are female researchers below 40 years old. They must hold a research doctorate (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., Sc.D., D.B.A., M.D.) and must be engaged in research related to public health and sustainable development.
