Kent State University is offering the Global Diversity Scholarship to international students from under-represented regions who wish to apply for freshmen studies (first year of university) commencing either Spring semester 2020 or Fall semester 2020. The scholarship is offered to diversify the student body and make sure specific regions are represented at Kent State campus.
The scholarship is a one-time award ranging from US$2,000 to US$5,000.
Applicants must be unconditionally admitted to Kent State University as an international freshmen. To be eligible, applicants should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a US 4.0 scale. They must be international new freshmen that demonstrate excellent academics and come from underrepresented regions.
Only those jointly nominated by the departments and the Office of Global Education are eligible. The University will only consider students who will add to the diversity of the student population based on country/region of origin or ethno-linguistic background.
Graduate students and transfer students are not eligible.
Applications are to be done online by 1 October 2019 for Spring 2020 semester and by 1 April 2020 for Fall 2020 semester.
