Social entrepreneurs and social influencers around the world are invited to apply for the GATHER Fellowship for 2020. They have to be committed to leading change in their communities and are developing creative solutions to address conflict in their communities, whether as entrepreneurs, educators, artists, journalists, NGO professionals, policymakers, activists, or otherwise.

GATHER is investing in the work and ideas of the GATHER Seeds of Peace alumni and other leaders advancing change across the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, and the United States. Fellows will be provided with the personalized support to advance their work, tools to hone their professional skill set, and access to a pool of funds to expand their impact.

Fellows will take part in ongoing virtual and local meet-ups between February and November 2020 and attend a Fellowship Incubator in Stockholm from 27 March 2020 to 1 April 2020. They will be invited to the GATHER Fellowship Closing which will take place in Fall 2020. The Incubator launch and the Closing are intensive 5-day programs comprising peer learning, professional skill-building, and networking with 2020 GATHER Fellowship Cohort, GATHER Staff, and local experts in Stockholm, Sweden.

There will be ongoing customized one-on-one coaching.

All costs associated with the intensive 5-day Incubator program in Stockholm and the Fellowship closing (at a location to be determined), are fully covered. Such costs include transportation, lodging, meals, and other costs .

Participants have to pay a one-time fee of US$250. However, both full and partial scholarships are available for this fee, based on need.

Applicants have to be individuals from different sectors and backgrounds who are working to address conflict and oppression in the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Applicants should have a clearly defined response to a societal problem that relates to core conflict issues and a strategically designed plan of action with forward motion. They need to be able to communicate new ideas, learn from others, share current challenges, provide and receive feedback from peers and staff, and work collaboratively.

They have to be committed to their project as well as participate fully and actively in all program elements. GATHER Fellows are expected to be in full-attendance and fully present at the 2 in-person events (opening and closing) as well as virtual group video calls (approximately 6-8 hours per month).

It is not necessary that applicants have launched their own organization or venture, in order to receive a Fellowship. Those who are working for existing or established institutions, and who are leading innovative projects that contribute to change, are eligible to apply. But they need to be in a leadership role on the project, which should contribute to economic, social, or political change.

GATHER is specifically interested in supporting people, projects, communities, and movements aimed at transforming conflict and fighting oppression.

Applications are to be done online by 1 November 2019.
