Charles Sturt University (CSU) is offering the Charles Sturt University Refugee and Asylum Seeker Scholarship to students from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds who wish to commence undergraduate studies in AY 2020 at the University, as well as to continuing undergraduate students at the University.
Studies may be in any of the following campuses: Albury-Wodonga; Bathurst; Dubbo; Orange; Port Macquarie; or Wagga Wagga. Applicants could be commencing students or continuing students who are studying undergraduate courses in any subject. Both full-time on campus studies and online studies are eligible.
The scholarship award covers 100% of the tuition fees for the duration of the Bachelors degree. The scholarship is dependent upon the recipient’s visa status and will be reviewed annually. Scholarship payments are dependent upon the recipient maintaining a pass grade average each semester.
Applicants must be holding 1 of the following visas:
- Bridging visa (BVA)
- Bridging visa (BVE)
- Temporary Protection visa subclass 785
- Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) or
- Other future temporary refugee visa sub-classes as determined by the Australian Government.
Applicants must have a current eligible course application with CSU and must have accepted an unconditional offer with CSU and be enrolled to study in Session 1 beyond the first census date of the academic year.
Scholars will not be entitled to continue receiving payments if they become eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place and qualify to defer their fees.
Applications are to be done online by 3 December 2019 for commencing students for AY 2020.
