Young leaders from eligible countries around the world are invited to submit an essay in application for the 2017 Youth Ag-Summit (YAS) which will be held in Brussels, Belgium during 9 to 13 October 2017. During the week-long 2017 Youth Ag-Summit, young leaders will meet to discuss ideas, develop a vision, collaborate and find answers and solutions to the question “How do we feed a hungry planet?”
The costs for attending the Youth AG-Summit are covered by the organisers. These include visa, transportation, flights, accommodation and catering.
Applicants have to be between the ages of 18 and 25. The ability to demonstrate original ideas and passion will be the key selection criteria for selection to the 2017 YAS.
To apply for attendance at the Summit, candidates have to submit an essay addressing “Feeding a hungry planet”. They need to use their own village, town, city or country as their point of reference and state which of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) youths can impact the most, in the coming 1 to 5 years, both at a local and global level. In the essay, they have to explain how youths working on these SDGs can bring real change to agricultural or food chain practices, or personal and community behaviors, that could help feed 10 billion people and create a more sustainable local and global society.
Applications and submission of essays are to be done online by 13 January 2017.
