Young entrepreneurs around the world who are keen on creating and implementing solutions to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), are invited to apply to the Young Sustainable Impact (YSI) Innovation Program 2018. Participants will be put in international teams of 3 people, and will undergo 5 modules and 10 objectives in 5 months. The Program begins with a 4.5-month online program from 25 March 2018 to 12 August 2018, after which participants will be flown to to Oslo, Norway, where they will meet with their mentors, teammates and investors. The 2-week Oslo experience will take place from 12 to 26 August 2018. Participants have to commit to following up the project after the workshop and conference. The aim is to enable the young entrepreneurs to create real startups that help solve the SDGs and which are economically viable.

Participants are trained to start startups from scratch, all the way to becoming a fully operational startup in 5 months.  They will be taught how to operate those startups as well. Young Sustainable Impact provides close mentorship and follow up and access to the YSI network of talents, partners and mentors. The teams will be taught how to find the necessary information and help they need for themselves. The program will be facilitated online, primarily using an education platform named

Participants will need to spend between 15 and 35 hours each week from 2 April 2018 to 26 August 2018 on the YSI Innovation Program.


The YSI Innovation Program is completely free and it is a fully funded trip to Oslo, including flight, accommodation and food. They will also:

  • Meet the entrepreneurial community of Oslo, Norway
  • Receive training in creativity, innovation, teamwork, entrepreneurship and leadership through action and the curriculum.
  • Benefit from a mentorship scheme, gain access to investors and share experiences with some of the best talents under 25 years old in the world in their team.
  • Be able to create a real startup tackling SDGs.
  • Learn to work online, with a diverse team and
  • Gain access to a huge network of young talents and a community of driven people.

After the completion of the YSI Innovation Program, YSI will follow up to ensure that the startup is fully operational and running.



Applicants have to be between the ages of 16 and 25, and can be from anywhere in the world. They have to be individuals dedicated to solving the world’s problems, who are willing to make time and who want to create a real startup. They need to be open-minded people with a proven track record of excellence in resilience and drive, and who are passionately able to use their skills and knowledge towards a project of any kind. They should be able to understand people and perspectives from different walks of life and wish to create a positive impact in society. In other words, they should be people crazy enough to think they can change the world, and bold enough to actually do it.

They should not be easily discouraged because they are creating a startup remotely, and with new people from different continents. They must be able to make decisions and keep their cool under extreme uncertainty.


Applications are to be done online by Round 1: 15 February 2018, Round 2: 28 February 2018, and Round 3: 10 March 2018.
