Description

The University of Warwick is offering 5 fully funded Warwick Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarships in AY 2018/2019 to support refugee, humanitarian protection and asylum seeking students in the UK. There will be 3 Postgraduate Taught Scholarships for students applying for Masters degree programmes commencing October 2018 and 2 Postgraduate Research Scholarships for postgraduate research students applying to start their PhD in Octobe 2018.

Benefits

The Postgraduate Taught Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees for 2018/19, and a stipend equivalent to the RCUK level (provisional £14,800 for full time award holders in 2018/19) for the 1 year masters.

The Postgraduate Research Scholarship is for up to 3.5 years and covers the full cost of tuition fees and a stipend equivalent to the RCUK level (provisional £14,800 for full time award holders in 2018/19).

In addition to the scholarships, the University of Warwick will also work with the Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA) to offer funding and support for Fellowships or Post-Doctoral Awards.

Eligibility

Applicants can be students of any nationality, who hold 1 of the following statuses listed below as granted by the UK government and/or whom are academics supported by the Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA):

  • ‘Humanitarian Protection’
  • Full ‘refugee status’
  • Asylum seeker

Application

Warwick Postgraduate Taught Sanctuary Scholarships: both the scholarship application and the admission application to the University must be submitted online by 15 March 2018.

Warwick Research Sanctuary Scholarships: both the scholarship application and the admission application to the University must be submitted online by 1 March 2018.
