Type of Funding
University Arts London (UAL) is inviting students from eligible developing countries, who wish to undertake full-time taught Masters course (M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes or MSc qualification) at 1 of UAL’s 6 Colleges commencing AY 2019/20, to apply for the UAL International Postgraduate £25,000 plus International Student House Scholarships. Up to 6 scholarships are available for AY 2019/20.
The following courses are not eligible for the scholarships: Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Integrated Masters (or any similar course that qualifies for undergraduate support from UK student finance agencies), EMBA, MBA, distance learning, blended learning and online courses.
The UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship provides a £25,000 award to cover tuition fee charges and a contribution towards living costs. Scholars will also be given International Students House (ISH) accommodation for the duration of their study.
Applicants must be from the following developing countries: Afghanistan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Dem. Rep., Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, The, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Korea Dem. People’s Rep., Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, and Yemen, Rep.
Applicants must first have applied for a full-time taught Masters course at UAL (M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes or MSc qualification) commencing AY 2019/20. The household income of the applicant must be £35,000 or less (or the equivalent exchange value in a qualifying countriy’s currency) at the point of scholarship application.
Applicants have to describe their background, academic experience and how receiving a Postgraduate Scholarship would make a difference to them; how they intend to use the qualification to support their future plans; and how the scholarship would help them address challenges in their home country. Scholarship applicants would also need to state how they would uphold the values of social justice and environmental stewardship.
Those who already hold a postgraduate taught qualification (or one at equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK or abroad, are ineligible to apply for the scholarship.
Applications for the Masters degree courses must be done online by 24 May 2019, in order for the UAL International Postgraduate Scholarships online application form to be sent to the candidate on time for the closing date of the scholarship applications, which is 31 May 2019.
