Description

The Trust Conference invites frontline activists and human rights defenders, especially those from developing countries, to apply for the Trust Conference 2019 Changemakers Programme (formerly known as the Scholarship Programme) to attend the Trust Conference 2019 which will take place from 13 to 14 November 2019, in London, UK. The Trust Conference is an annual human rights forum committed to finding real solutions to fight slavery, empower women, and advance human rights worldwide. There will be 600 delegates from the fields of activism, civil society, law, government and business convening to network and take action.

This year’s Trust Conference will focus on the 2 key areas of: Fighting Modern Slavery (Day 1) and Defending Human Rights (Day 2). Up to 60 scholarships will be awarded this year.

Benefits

Full scholarships, partial scholarships or ticket only scholarships will be awarded.

The full scholarship provides for 1 non-transferable ticket to attend both days of the Trust Conference and a £1,250 bursary to help cover travel and accommodation expenses.

The partial scholarship provides for 1 non-transferable ticket to attend both days of the Trust Conference and a £750 bursary to help cover travel and accommodation expenses.

The Ticket Only scholarship provides for 1 non-transferable ticket to attend both days of the Trust Conference.

In addition, recipients of the scholarships will attend 1 free day of specialised training and networking with other Changemakers on 12 November 2019. All Changemakers will also have their names and photos in Trust Conference marketing materials and on the official website.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are activists working in the area of human rights, such as modern slavery, women’s rights, economic empowerment, refugee support and other human rights areas. Priority will be given to applicants from developing countries who demonstrate that participation in the Trust Conference will enhance their work in their own communities.

All applicants must speak English, the language of the conference, and cannot have previously have attended the conference on a scholarship.
