The Graduate Institute Geneva is inviting refugees resident in Switzerland who wish to pursue their studies at the Institute commencing September 2019, to apply for the Geneva Refugee Scholarship.
The Graduate Institute Geneva offers Disciplinary Masters and PhD programmes in Anthropology and Sociology; International Economics; International History; International Law; and International Relations and Political Science.
The Interdisciplinary Masters programmes offered by the Institute are the Master in Development Studies and the Master in International Affairs.
The scholarship award is CHF 20,000 annually to cover living expenses, with the possibility of a tuition fee reduction depending on the scholar’s financial means. The scholarship is renewable.
Applicants must be resident in Switzerland and must have been granted a Swiss Refugee status (Permit B) or a Provisional Admission for Foreigners status (Permit F). They must provide a letter from the Swiss Government confirming refugee status or provisional admission in Switzerland. Only those admitted for study commencing September 2019 are eligible for the scholarship. Only new students may apply; those already enrolled are not eligible.
Applicants will be assessed based on their financial situation, academic results, their motivation letter and references as well as other relevant information.
Applicants who wish to apply for the scholarship must submit their application for the study programme online, indicating their desire at the same time to be considered for the scholarship. Those who wish to be considered for the scholarship must submit their application for study by 15 January 2019.
