The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland invites applications for The Global South Scholar-In-Residence Programme for the Autumn 2018 semester, from university teachers holding a PhD, from Africa, Asia and Latin America. Preference will be accorded to women and junior academics who will apply the benefits of their stay at the Institute upon returning to their own institutions.
This programme aims at developing an intellectual exchange between academics from the 3 continents and the Institute’s faculty. Three candidates per semester will be selected to spend 1 semester at the Institute to update their teaching curricula, participate in teaching courses, further their research projects and contribute to enriching the intellectual life of the Institute. Candidates must teach and carry out research in the fields of specialisation of the Graduate Institute, namely, in International Relations and Development Studies.
The programme is fully funded. Scholars receive a contribution towards living expenses and round-trip travel and accommodation in Geneva are covered.
Applicants have to be PhD holders working as university teachers, who specialise in 1 of the domains or disciplines of the Institute: International Affairs, Development Studies, Development Economics, Anthropology and Sociology of Development, International Law, International Economics, International Relations, International History and Politics.
Applications are to be sent via email by 1 March 2018 for the Autumn 2018 semester, and by 1 October 2018 for the Spring 2019 semester.
