Description

Monash University is making available 1 Sonia Narodowski Scholarship for Refugee or Migrant Students to students commencing any undergraduate degree in AY 2020, who are from a refugee or migrant background.

Benefits

The scholarship award is $3000, for 1 year only.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or Australian humanitarian visa holders, who are from a refugee and/or migrant background. They must be commencing students intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia in AY 2020.

A migrant is defined as a person who was born overseas whose usual residence is Australia. A person is regarded as a usual resident if they have been (or are expected to be) residing in Australia for a period of 12 months or more.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need. Preference will be given to students who are recent refugees.

Application

Year 12 students have to apply for the scholarship through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) by 11 October 2019. Applicants for current students are to be done online by 6 November 2019.
