Type of Funding
The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) is inviting passionate young changemakers and entrepreneurs of any nationality with innovative business ideas, to apply for the 2019 Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Programme, which seeks to inspire and equip youth of different nationalities to embark on social enterprises in Singapore and beyond.
Participants will attend a 4-day YSE Workshop to be held in Singapore in March 2019, and On the last day of the workshop, participants will present their business ideas to a panel of judges. The top 16 teams will progress to the 8-month YSE programme, which includes a mentorship scheme; overseas study visit and an opportunity to pitch for funding.
SIF does not charge for the workshop. Participants have to cover their own airfares and accommodation to attend the 4-day workshop in Singapore in March 2019. Meals and transport during the workshop will be covered. But participants have to pay for transport cost to the assembly venue each morning and back to their accommodation each night.
The YSE Programme offers:
- Grants of up to SGD 20,000 to develop the social enterprise
- An international ecosystem of changemakers including like-minded individuals, corporates, practitioners and successful entrepreneurs
- Mentorship and
- Overseas study visits.
Applicants must be passionate young changemakers and entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 30, with a viable business proposition that addresses a social need. They can be of any nationality. They can join as individuals or as a team of up to 3 members. They do not need to have an incorporated/registered social enterprise, but they must have a viable idea. Those with incorporated social enterprises are ineligible if their social enterprises have been in operation for more than a year and are generating profit.
