The School of Economics at University of Kent is offering the School of Economics Scholarship for MSc Development Economics for students from low- and lower middle-income countries applying to the MSc Development Economics programme in AY 2019/20. Up to 2 scholarships are available.
The MSc in Development Economics provides training in the application of economic principles to the problems of international development. The programme provides deep insight into the problems faced by contemporary developing economies and discusses the wide range of policies aimed at overcoming economic underdevelopment.
The School of Economics Scholarship for MSc Development Economics is worth up to 50% of the full tuition fee. This scholarship does not cover the full cost of studying at Kent, and scholars need to have additional sources of funding in order to cover their accommodation, travel and living expenses.
Eligible applicants are outstanding students from low-/lower-middle-income countries, who have secured a scholarship of at least 50% of the full tuition fee through another recognised funder. The award of this scholarship is conditional upon students accepting a University of Kent School of Economics offer of a place to study.
This scholarship is not available for the MSc Conversion Programme.
Applicants for the MSc Development Economics must possess a good first degree (good second class honours or equivalent) in a sciences or social sciences subject and show evidence of a quantitative background (eg a pre-university school qualification in Mathematics).
