The Friendship Ambassadors Foundation is inviting young leaders who are making new inroads in the movement for sustainable development, to apply to become a delegate at the 24th session of the Youth Assembly and qualify for the 2019 Outstanding Youth Delegate Award. The 24th session of the Youth Assembly will be held from 8 to 10 August 2019 at Washington, D.C., USA and shortlisted candidates will be selected from the accepted Delegates of the The Youth Assembly. Up to 3 Outstanding Youth Delegates will be identified from different countries and will be awarded at the closing session.
Guided by the theme “New Horizons for Global Youth”, the 24th Session of The Youth Assembly aims to tackle 4 focus areas: Human Development, Environment, Peace and Security, and Technology. Delegates will take part in panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and insightful keynotes.
Each of the winners of the Outstanding Youth Delegate Award will win the following opportunities:
- Speak at the Closing Ceremony regarding their commitment to global development and the success of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
- Featured prominently on the Youth Assembly website and various social media platforms
- Invitation to attend an exclusive special event.
Delegate applicants must be between 16 and 28 years old, with a proven track record of leadership experience, school, or community involvement. They must be proficient in English and interested in global affairs, sustainable development, and youth issues.
Those shortlisted for the Youth Delegate Award would be individuals with a global perspective and demonstrated understanding and commitment towards global development and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They should be people with charisma and exceptional public speaking skills and great self-awareness and desire for self-improvement and learning. They must possess integrity and a good reputation within and outside their communities.
Only those with excellent leadership capabilities with proven experience of playing an active role in social action and/or sustainable development solutions will be considered. They should have unparalleled experience working with various sectors or organizations towards serving and improving their communities,as well as promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Friendship Ambassadors Foundation is looking for youths with unique contributions to their communities, with a proven track record of exceptional achievements related to youth engagement, social action and/or sustainable development solutions. They should possess potential in contributing to the success of global development and the SDGs.
