Loughborough University is offering the Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarships for students from Africa who wish to undertake full-time taught postgraduate studies at the University commencing AY 2019/2020. The scholarships are available for studies at both the Loughborough and London campuses.
Loughborough currently offers taught postgraduate programmes in the following schools/departments: Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering; Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering; Arts, English and Drama; Business and Economics; Chemical Engineering; Chemistry; Communication and Media; Computer Science; Design; Geography and Environment; Materials; Mathematical Sciences; Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering; Physics; Politics and International Studies; Physics; Social and Policy Studies; Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences; and Teacher Education.
Loughborough University is awarding a limited number of scholarships. The scholarships will cover 100% of the course fees for the chosen postgraduate taught course for 1 year. Scholars will have to fund their own travel and maintenance costs through other sources.
Only students who are currently domiciled (permanently living) in Africa are eligible, and they can only apply for the scholarship after they have been offered a place in the University. They must provide evidence of exceptional academic achievement, usually a 1st Class Honours Degree, and be committed to returning to their home country on completion of the postgraduate programme. They also have to show that they are able and committed to making a significant contribution to their home country on their return. Evidence of strong motivation and initiative to secure funds to cover the remainder of the costs involved must be provided.
