Type of Funding
The Jardine Foundation is inviting students with outstanding academic performance and exceptional leadership qualities from selected Asian countries, who wish to apply for Masters or PhD studies at the University of Cambridge for AY 2019/2020, to apply for the Jardine Cambridge Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded for any field of study, but are tenable only at the following 4 colleges – Downing College, Magdalene College, Peterhouse and Trinity College.
The scholarship covers university composition fee and an annual stipend.
Applicants must be from Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam. They must first apply to and be offered admission to 1 of the following colleges: Downing College, Magdalene College, Peterhouse, or Trinity College. Only a limited number of applications for Scholarships for postgraduate studies will be considered. Generally, the Foundation does not accept direct application but only seeks postgraduate candidates through its preferred Colleges at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among those individuals who have been accepted by the Universities.
For residents of the above countries or territories who are now studying overseas, if they have sufficient connection with any of the countries or territories, they are eligible to apply for the Scholarships.
Generally, applications will not be accepted from candidates whose parents have not resided in a relevant country or territory for at least 7 years prior to the date of entry to University.
Applications are to be done online by the course application deadline of 5 December 2018 or 3 January 2019 (course-dependent – see the Official Website for specific course deadlines). In addition to applying to the University of Cambridge, selected candidates will be asked by the Trust to apply for a Jardine Cambridge Graduate Scholarship.
