Youths from around the world interested in help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are invited to apply for participation in the 3rd International Youth Summit Lahore (IYSL) that will be held in Lahore, Pakistan, from 2 to 8 December 2019. The theme of the Summit is on technology, development and economy. The Summit aims to highlight how inclusive and sustainable economic growth is crucial in achieving the 2030 Agenda and how using scientific and technical knowledge to meet specific objectives can help to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Delegates will also visit Islamabad, the walled city of Lahore and Gawadar.
All local logistics including local transport, food and accommodation will be covered. But delegates have to pay for their own travel to and from Lahore, Pakistan. Some travel scholarships are available upon request and consideration.
Applicants should be young activists, professionals, entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs, academics, and journalists who are between the ages of 18 and 35, from any where in the world. Flexibility regarding the age limit will be decided on a case by case basis. They do not have to be native English speakers but as the IYSL is conducted in English, basic understanding of English or knowledge of oral and written English is required.
Applicants have to indicate 3 areas of interest, out of the following 7 areas: technology; economy; development; peace; culture; climate change; and gender equality. They also have to detail what their ideas are about Sustainable Development and 3 ways to achieve SDG No.17 (Partnership for the Goals).
International delegates have to apply online by 31 August 2019.
