The Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF) is inviting nominations for the Innovator of the Year Award for their work done in 2018. The winner will be honoured on 26 February 2019 at the 2019 Aid & Development Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. Nominees must be individuals or teams who have introduced game-changing initiatives, created research or inventions that have made an impact on the humanitarian aid and development sectors in Africa over the past year. The Award aims to honour individuals who have been inspiring in their leadership, forward thinking, creative problem-solving and implementation of innovative programmes that have helped drive Africa’s progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Winner will benefit from extensive media coverage and industry recognition for their achievements in humanitarian aid and development.
The Winner will receive a crystal award at the AIDF Africa Summit 2019, and his/her registration fee for the Aid & Development Africa Summit 2020 will be waived. There will be publicity for the Winner as a press release will be published on aidforum.org as well as event website africa.aidforum.org with details of the Winner’s initiatives, research or inventions that have made an impact on the humanitarian aid and development sectors in Africa over the past year. There will also be social media endorsements by AIDF.
Nominees should be individuals who work within the humanitarian aid and development sector, who have shown a thoughtful, creative and innovative approach to resolving humanitarian and development challenges in Africa over the past year. The initiatives, research or inventions that nominees have introduced or implemented should have had a proven impact on solving humanitarian aid and development challenges in Africa.
Nominees should be people who are looking to enhance and grow the impact of their initiatives, research or inventions to accelerate Africa’s progress towards the SDGs, including future plans to take their idea to the next level. Nominees could be teams, but each team needs to name a team leader who will accept the award on the team’s behalf. Self-nominations are allowed.
Applications are to be done online by 18 January 2019.
