Halmstad University is offering Halmstad University Scholarships to students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland for studies in Masters degree programmes commencing AY 2019-2020. Any field of study is eligible for the scholarships.

Halmstad offers Masters degree programmes in English in the following fields:

  • Biomedicine
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science
  • Informatics and
  • Welfare.


The Halmstad University Scholarship covers 25% or 50% of the tuition fee, which will be deducted from the tuition fee. The scholarship will not cover living costs and travel expenses and there are no grants for family members.

The scholarship will initially be granted for 1 semester, but will be automatically extended for the duration of the study programme (2 or 4 semesters) provided that study results are satisfactory.


Applicants must be from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who have to pay tuition fee.

Scholarship applicants must first apply for 1 of our Halmstad University’s Masters programmes at www.universityadmissions.se. Candidates who qualify for the Masters programmes will be eligible for the Halmstad University scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, GPA, the ranking of the previous university that the candidate studied at on the international ranking list and candidate’s proficiency in English.

Candidates who select Halmstad University programme as their first choice will be given preference for the scholarships.


Applications for the scholarships are to be done online by 10 March 2019.
