Description

The Goi Peace Foundation/UNESCO is inviting young people up to 25 years old to submit essays for this year’s 20th Anniversary Special Edition of the International Essay Contest for Young People. The theme of this year’s contest is: “Creating a Society Full of Kindness”. Contestants are to describe what kindness means to them and how they think a kinder society could be created. Contestants would have to first carry out 10 acts of kindness, and then use their experiences as inspiration in writing their essays, although the essay does not need to be about their acts of kindness. As a special edition, this year’s contest involves action in addition to writing, as participating in the contest directly contributes to creating a better world. But only the essay itself will be considered in the judging process.

Entrants can submit essays in 1 of 2 categories: 1) Children (up to 14 years old), or 2) Youth (15 to 25 years old).

This program is an activity of the UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
