Action For Nature (AFN), a non-profit organization, is inviting young people around the world with successful environmental initiatives tht have a positive impact on the environment, to apply for the International Young Eco-Hero Awards 2019. The Awards are intended to recognize and reward the successful individual environmental initiatives of these young people who are taking action to solve the world’s tough environmental problems.


Winners will receive public recognition, cash prizes of up to US$500 and certificates for outstanding efforts to help protect and preserve the environment. Winners will serve as role models for other young people with their demonstration that each individual can make a difference.


Applicants must be between the ages of 8 and 16, with projects that concern environmental health, advocacy, research or protection of the natural world, which are close to completion or completed within the last year. The projects should be action-based and self-initiated, and not assigned by teachers or adults. The project should be action-based and self-initiated, and not 1 assigned by a teacher or other adult.

Science Fair and Scouting Badge projects will only be considered if they include environmental action, educational outreach to others or extended studies beyond the Science Fair and Scouting Badges. Projects relating to domestic or confined animals, and compositions or reports are not eligible. Preference will be given to projects that have been in existence for more than 2 years and/or ongoing projects.
